Blackingstone Rock near Moretonhampstead, is a spectacular tor
surrounded by mosses, lichens and grasses, on Dartmoor, on which Arthur is said to have met
the Devil.
Here, in Devon, Arthur is said to have
met with the Devil. The Devil who, along with the other Giants, competes with Arthur for prominence in local topographic folklore
of the county.
